We are all on a journey of faith; wherever we are on that journey, and no matter how far we have travelled, we are seeking to be Disciples of Christ. To develop and grow in our discipleship we need to be stimulated and challenged in our daily lives by the teachings of the Bible. Stewardship is a significant part of this growth… and this includes growth for children and young people. Here’s a collection of resources to help you in this important and exciting area of ministry:
  • Giving In Grace: Money Matters – Creative resources for talking money with children and young people (0-18yrs)click here for pdf download  (produced Liverpool Diocese).
  • Young People: Giving For Life – Five sessions and an All Age service outline (14-18yrs) – click here for pdf download – (produced by Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham).
  • Gifts and Talents – Material to explore stewarship with Children and Young People (0-18yrs) click here for pdf download(produced by Diocese of West Yorkshire & The Dales).
  • Going For Growth: Children & Stewardship – Resource sheet exploring how can we encourage children and young people to be good stewards (0-11yrs) download MSWord file here  – (produced by CofE).
  • Children’s Stewardship Resources – a selection of worksheets, resources and ideas (0-11yrs) – download .zip file here(produced by Diocese of Peterborough).

Young Church Magazine is a weekly resource to use with young children in church. Based on the Gospel reading from the New Common lectionary, it is a double-sided A4 sheet of seasonally appropriate puzzles and games, relating to the Sunday theme, for primary school aged children. There is also a colouring sheet for younger children.

It is a practical tool to use with children who stay throughout the service. The children can do the puzzles during the sermon, or take it home. It can also be used as an insert in the church magazine.

This handy resource is available quarterly by email or post for the annual fee of £15. If interested in taking out a subscription please contact us  on 02392 899 678 or email patricia.gray@portsmouth.anglican.org
